The Marielle Cardigan is worked top down in a lace pattern.

First, the back piece is worked with contiguous shoulder increases. The front pieces are worked from picked-up stitches on the back piece, and have increases for the neckline and armholes. The front pieces and back piece are joined, and the body is worked back and forth.

Stitches are picked up around the armholes, and the sleeves are worked in the round with decreases integrated into the lace pattern.

The button bands and neckline are worked from picked-up stitches.

The body, sleeves, button bands, and neckband are finished in single rib with an Italian tubular bind-off.

Size Guide:

Choosing a size depends on the fit you want for your cardigan. Measure yourself around your chest or at the widest point of your torso, and add the desired positive ease to determine which size to knit.

For a tight fit, the recommended positive ease is 5-10 cm [2-3 ⅞ inches] larger than your chest measurement.

For a relaxed fit, the recommended positive ease is 20-30 cm [7 ⅞-11 ¾ inches] larger than your chest measurement.

The cardigan shown in the photos is knitted in Merino (Color: Ballerina) and Soft Silk Mohair (Color: Cherry Blossom) from Knitting for Olive.
